Joyce E. Zigler

Joyce E.(Webb) Harbit Zigler, 86, of Cicero, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at home surrounded by her family. 

She was born on November 7, 1937, in Beech Grove, Indiana to Joseph E. and Naomi (Miller) Webb. She had two sons Marc and David Harbit with her first husband, Ted Harbit. She was married for 55 years to Roger Zigler, with whom she was a bonus mom to Kristi Lemerick and Ken Zigler.

She was a graduate of Frankton High School. She worked for several companies in administrative positions. She retired from Xerox Corporation in Indianapolis.

Roger and Joyce lived in Madison and Hamilton counties before moving to Bradenton, Florida where they resided for the last 33 years.

Joyce was very fashionable, always put together from head to toe! She thoroughly enjoyed shopping, loved to travel, play bingo, family game nights, holiday gatherings and attending the PLE dances. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

When you visited Joyce, she was asking when you were coming back and you just got there!! Joyce was her happiest surrounded by her family and friends.

She was able to spend her last months in the home of her son, David and his wife Judy. During that time, hospice caregivers included her daughter, Kristi and her granddaughter Kortney, as well as several other family members. Her constant wish was for a large family as she was an only child. She got her wish with 28 members who truly cherished and loved her. She will forever be missed.

Joyce is survived by her husband whom she married on June 1, 1969, Roger Zigler; her children, Marc (wife, Teresa) Harbit of Arcadia, David (wife, Judy) Harbit of Cicero and Kristi (husband, Mark) Lemerick of Fishers. Joyce was a wonderful mother and grandmother, known as Grandma Sugar" to her six grandchildren, Angie (husband, Brad) Ehman, Joel (wife, Jen) Lawson, Matthew (wife, Joanie) Lemerick, Kortney (husband Richard) Wright, DJ (wife, Lauren) Harbit, and Paige (husband, Tyler) McPherson; and thirteen great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepson, Ken Zigler; and several aunts and uncles. 

Cremation will take place. 

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Bozell Funeral Homes, Lahm Chapel, 211 East State Street, Pendleton, Indiana 46064 with Chaplain Josh Schreiner officiating. 

Visitation will be from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Thursday at the Lahm Chapel. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Suburban Hospice, 801 North State Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140 or the Alzheimer's Association, 50 East 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana 46209.
