Miss Joyce Lea Freeman

Joyce Lea Freeman of Greenfield, was born June 5, 1932 in Westland, Indiana and passed away on February 5, 2019 at Springhurst Health Center. Joyce was the daughter of Laudis L. & Mellie (McKinley) Freeman, Sr. She was a graduate of Charlottesville High School in 1950 and Ball State Teachers College, now Ball State University, in 1954. Joyce began her teaching career at Centerville High School & Knightstown High School. She finished her career as the Chairman of the Business Department at Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, having taught there for over 30 years. Joyce attended Mohawk United Methodist Church. Joyce is survived by one brother, Tom (wife, Arlene) Freeman of Morristown; 11 nieces and nephews, Janette Young, Raette Redmon, Patty Garrett, Raymond Shirley, JoAnn Woolridge, Bill Freeman, John Freeman, Shelly Bailey, Sherry Barton, Rebecca Freeman, & Debbie Shipp; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Laudis L. Freeman, Jr; sisters, Barbara Bertsch & Doris Shirley; and great nephew, Bruce Rozzell. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2019, at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
