Joyce A. Helterbrand

Joyce A. Helterbrand, 76, Lapel, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2010, at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville following an extended illness.
She was born on April 7, 1934, in Noblesville, Indiana to Harry and Edith (Earl) McAvoy.
She graduated from Lapel High School in 1970.
Joyce retired in 1990 from the Lapel Post Office where she was the rural letter carrier.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald Helterbrand; one daughter, Teresa Ellis of Noblesville; two grandchildren, Niki Cook of Fortville, and Pete Helterbrand of Richmond, MO; two great-grandchildren, Kailah and Jaedon Cook; two sisters, Becky (husband, Jim) Scott of Atlanta, and Delores Childers of Bloomfield; Brad Robinson stationed in California; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Debbie Totten; a son, Ed Helterbrand; and a brother, Joe Sylvester.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Brookside Cemetery, Lapel with Pastor Dawn Cuthbert officiating. Burial will follow.
There will be no visitation.
