Joseph William Turner, Jr.

Joseph William Turner, Jr., 77, Anderson, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at Community Hospital in Anderson following a brief illness.
He was born on June 13, 1932, in Anderson, Indiana to Joseph and Golda (Matthews) Turner. Sr.
He graduated from Lapel High School in 1950.
Joe retired from the former Delco Remy Division of General Motors in Anderson after 40 years of employment.
He was a member of the Lapel Masonic Lodge No. 625 where he was a past master.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Faye (Huffman) Turner; two children, Connie (husband, David) Baughman of Zion, IL, and Kevin Turner of Anderson; three grandchildren, Jody (wife, Jenny) Turner of Middletown, Stephanie (husband, Steve) Tipps of Lapel, and Kelly Turner of Bloomington; one sister, Nedra (husband, Owen) Hoskins of Madison; and a sister-in-law, Harriet Turner of Lapel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Jim Turner.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, February 5, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Dawn Cuthbert officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, February 4, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
