Joseph R. Mohler

Joseph R. Mohler, 88, died August 25, 2014 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after an extended illness.

He was born March 22, 1926, the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Luvisi) Mohler, in Anderson, and was a lifelong Anderson resident.

He graduated from Anderson High School in 1944 and then served in the United States Army Air Corps, 305th bomb group, 366th bomb squadron. He had been employed as a manager for both Dietzen’s and Lewis bakeries.

Joseph was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.

He is survived by three sons, Stephen (wife, Carolyn) Mohler of Mechanicsville, Va. Daniel (wife, Jayne) Mohler of Muncie, Christopher (wife, Gilene) Mohler of Tipton, and his daughter Michelle (husband, Michael) Bell of Columbus; eight grandchildren, Susan Adt (Travis Coleman), Brad (Jennifer) Mohler, Audra Mohler (Byron Jarrett), Daniel Mohler, Jr. (Megan Baker), Mikka (Adam) Lephart, Alexander Mohler, Andrew Mohler, Michael Bell II, Victoria Bell and Elizabeth Bell and twelve great-grandchildren. Additionally he is survived by sister-in-law Vera McCormack.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Elizabeth Mohler, brother, Charles Mohler and sister, Miriam Mudd.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Monsignor Robert Sell officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by V.F.W. Post 266 Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 11:00-1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
