Joseph David Skiles Iv

March 8, 1979 — June 4, 2023

Joseph David Skiles IV, 44, fondly known as JD, left his loving family on Sunday, June 4, 2023. He was born on March 8, 1979, in Anderson, Indiana to Joseph David Skiles III and Catherine Skiles.

He was a graduate of Lapel High School. He was employed at Skiles Construction as a steel erector for most of his career. In his free time, he enjoyed painting models and playing games. He was an avid reader.

He treasured his family and friends, and in particular, he was a doting son and uncle. He would always enthusiastically help with home repairs, landscaping and anything else his loved ones needed. He had a deep love for animals and was always eager to help care for them. HE always said he wanted nothing more than to live all of his days in Indiana.

Joseph is survived by his mother, Catherine Skiles; a brother, Nathan (wife, Ashley) Skiles; a sister, Lauren (husband, Tim) Lambie-Hanson; a nephew, Owen; a niece, Eleanor; and many aunts and uncles. He was particularly close with his uncle, Brian Skiles.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph David "Joe" Skiles III and his beloved black lab, Hank. He was extremely proud to be the 4th generation named Joseph David Skiles and always carried with him fond memories of his great-grandfather.

There are no public services scheduled at this time. His immediate family will be grieving privately and celebrating his life. We will dearly miss our sweet and loving son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend.

In lieu of flowers, please honor JD's memory by donating to or volunteering for nonprofit organizations that care for animals.
