Jonathan C. Cain, 59, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019. He was a lifelong resident of Wilkinson. He was born July 1, 1959, in Hancock County to the late William Oliver & Ina Lou (Toloday) Cain. Jon was a third-generation farmer and very active in his community. He was a member of Wilkinson Church of Christ. He was with the Wilkinson Volunteer Fire Department for 10 years and involved with the Athletic Boosters of Eastern Hancock for eight years, having served as past president. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Julie; daughters, Beth (husband, Chris) Zeilinga of Charlottesville & Becky (husband, Chad) Zapf of Wilkinson; grandchildren, Luke Zeilinga, Wyatt & Levi Zapf; and brother, William “Tim” (wife, Jerra) Cain of Wilkinson. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 24, at Wilkinson Church of Christ, 7293 N. St Rd 109, Wilkinson, with Pastor Ryan McCarty officiating. Burial will be at McCray Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church 4:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday. Arrangements are entrusted to Condo & St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Wilkinson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Riley Children’s Foundation or to the American Cancer Society.
