Johnny V. White, 63, Lapel, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family in Lapel following a brief battle of cancer.He was born October 20, 1958, in Nashville, Arkansas to Doyle White and Queen (Bright) Waldon.Johnny graduated from high school in Nashville, Arkansas and graduated from Bunker Hill Community College in Massachusetts.He was currently working at the Roger Roudebush VA hospital in Indianapolis for the last four years as a surgical technologist. He previously worked at several other hospitals around the state for over twenty-five years.Johnny served his country in the United States Navy; he also played basketball in college at Arkansas Tech University; and the United States Navy; he was also a member of the American Legion; and he loved to cook and make barbeque sauce.He is survived by his wife of 13 years Jennifer White of Lapel; children, Rachel (Ben) Rhoton of Montpelier, Amanda Kopsho of Indianapolis, T.J. (Brittany) Swain of Anderson, Stephanie Valentin of Michigan, and John (Ashley) Mitchell of Mississippi; two brothers; four sisters; 7 granddaughters; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.Johnny was preceded in death by his parents.A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana with Grahame Wilson officiating.Visitation will be from 11AM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home on Saturday.Military Rites will be performed by the Lapel American Legion Post 212.Online condolences: www.hersbergerbozell.com
