John L. Conrad

John L. Conrad, 81, of Anderson, passed away peacefully, September 13, 2017, at Providence Anderson Nursing Home. John was born February 2, 1936, in Beech City, Ohio, to the late John and Ruth (Warseter) Conrad. He retired in 2000, from GeMco Industrial Brakes, after 46 years of employment. He also served in the Michigan National Guard with an honorable discharged. John had been an active member of the Fortville Nazarene Church and enjoyed attending church functions. He had a generous spirit and loved to travel. He is survived by his children, William Conrad, Tammy Cruxmeyer, John M. Conrad; step children, Michael Desotell, Jeffery Desotell, Sandra Wren, Sharon Chastain and Larry Huston; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Conrad; and a brother and sister. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Rev. Sara Whitaker officiating. Burial will take place at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
