John Karl Schuster, age 77, of Lakeland, FL and formerly of Anderson, passed away May 18, 2016 after a sudden illness. He was born February 13, 1939 in Gary, Indiana, the son of the late Monroe G. and Lucille (Ingram) Schuster. The family then moved to Hopkinsville, KY before moving to Anderson in 1948. He was married to his beloved Roxie Anna (Ann) Philbert-Fisher for 46 years. He was a member of Central Christian Church. John graduated from Anderson High School in 1956 and Ball State University with a degree in Anthropology. He retired from Guide Division of General Motors where he was a superintendent of manufacturing and worked many years in Labor Relations. Upon retirement, John and Ann moved to Lakeland, FL and traveled to many parts of the United States in their Winnebago motor home. He loved fishing, golfing, classical music and was a gifted musician, both with his voice and playing the cello. John was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, loved to read, enjoyed the beauty of nature and bird watching. John is survived by his wife, Ann; children, Tomi D, Bloom, Tamara Sue Schuster, Tina Kay (significant other, Tom Pastore) Schuster-Carter and Timothy Edwin (wife, Deidre) Fisher; grandchildren, Luke Voorhies, Max Voorhies, Alison Carter, Payton Fisher, Chase Fisher and Shelby Hines; brother, M. Gary Schuster, Sr.; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday October 23, 2016 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Rev. Rick Vale officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Christian Church.
