Mr. John Edward Frossard

John Edward Frossard, 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2020. He was born April 2, 1924, in Madison County to the late Joseph Louis & Loyola Free Frossard. John was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the South Pacific in World War II. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1942 and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He retired from Delco Remy after 47 years. He loved his family, and they feel incredibly grateful for him. He was a devoted son, husband, father and Paw Paw who always put his faith and family first. He will be greatly missed. John is survived by his children, John Michael Frossard, Barbara (Bob) Scharnowske, Julia (Ron) Patterson, John Robert Frossard, Nancy (Jerry) Brennan, Joseph Lewis (Michele) Frossard; his brother, Thomas R. Frossard; 18 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Gladys Lewis Frossard; his siblings, Betty Norris, Paul Joe Frossard, Ann Marie Frossard, Rosemary Shipley, Dorothy Zirkelbach, and Martha Dillman; his daughter-in-law, Susan Frossard, and his grandchildren Ryan McCrocklin and Sarah Smythe. The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff at St. Vincent’s Hospital for their excellent compassionate care. A Memorial Mass will be at 11 am Wednesday, October 28, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1115 Pearl Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
