John E. Simpson, 74, of Fishers, passed peacefully at his home on May 22, 2018 following an extended illness. He was born on January 3, 1944 in Anderson and resided most of his life in Anderson. John proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1961 to 1964. He retired after 30 years of service from Ford Motor Company and continued his career working for Securitas for several years. He was a member of the UAW 1111 and the American Legion, Anderson Post #777. John enjoyed golfing at Grandview. John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rhonda (George) Simpson; sons, Greg Simpson of Huntington,, and Darin Simpson (Tracy Warrum) of Pendleton; grandchildren, Chase Simpson, Olivia Simpson, Quentin Simpson, Myles Simpson; great grandson, Weston Simpson; siblings, Harold (Marilyn) Simpson of Anderson, Donald Simpson of Madison, Barbara (Clifton) Dicken of Albany, Kentucky, Carol Simpson of Anderson; brother in-law, Terry George, sister in-law Ginny Simpson both of Anderson, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Addie and Orville Graham; brother, Wayne Simpson; nephew Brian Simpson, and special friend, Rubion “Tom” Isbell. John’s family wishes to thank all of his neighbors and the staff of Community Hospice for their care and support. Services will be Friday at 2:00 pm at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, Indiana 46013 with Pastor Chris Bell officiating. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Friday.
