John Dale Murdock

John Dale Murdock, 39, Lapel, passed away Monday, February 16, 2009, at Saint John's Health System in Anderson following a sudden illness.
He was born on August 26, 1969, in Anderson, Indiana to Ronald and Janie (Clendenen) Murdock.
He graduated from Frankton High School in 1988.
John attended the Elwood Church of God and was a 10 year member of the Grand Champions 4-H club; and an avid NASCAR fan who especially followed Dale Earnhardt, Sr. John loved to fish, watch football and was crazy about dogs.
He is survived by his mother, Janie (Clendenen) Delph of Lapel; his father and step-mother, Ron and Nancy Murdock of Frankton; one sister, Mary Ann (husband, Brandon) Waterman of Anderson; his step-father, Tom Delph of Anderson; one nephew, Austin Waterman; and one niece, Delaney Waterman; his maternal grandparents, Richard "Bill" and Mary Alberta Clendenen of Anderson; four aunts, Sally Hay of Anderson, Mary Kay (husband, Clive) Sarvich of Indianapolis, Betty (husband, Ron) Davis of Fort Walton Beach, FL, and Katie Knobloch of Anderson; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Mary Mannon; five grandparents, Ethel Tincher, William and Irene Johann, and Bob and Ann Delph.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Friday, February 20, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Michael Alley officiating. Burial will follow in Mendon Cemetery, Pendleton.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, February 19, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
