John Blair Ellingwood

John Blair Ellingwood, age 87, of Daleville, passed away November 5, 2016 at St Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital following an extended illness. He was born March 4, 1929 in Alexandria, the son of the late Raymond and Alice (Clegg) Ellingwood. John served in the Army from 1950-1953 and retired from Delco-Remy in 1980 after 31.4 years of service. He is survived by his children, Daniel E. (Jackie) Ellingwood of Anderson, Charlotte A. Ellingwood of Gaston, and Jeffrey L. (Chris) Ellingwood of Hartford City; stepchildren, Judy (William) McDaniel of Daleville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother, Gary (Judy) Ellingwood of Alexandria; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther; brother, Charles; and twin sister, Ina. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Gary Klinger officiating.
