Joe Estil Beyers, 83 of Greenfield, formerly of Charlottesville passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Greenfield Health Care in Greenfield.
He was born July 2, 1938, in Worthington, Indiana the son of the late Ralph and Mary Katheryn (Wood) Beyers.
Joe retired from Eli Lilly as a Biological and plant research toxicology technician after 35 years of employment. He loved fishing, woodworking and gardening and was one of the original founders of the Greenfield Farmers Market. He and his wife owned and operated Jo-Mar Plants in Charlottesville for 20 years. Joe was a member of the Wilkinson Church of Christ and the Melody Masters.
Survivors include his children, Karen (husband, Bradley) Clark of Arizona, Lori (husband, Ralph) Wilt of Charlottesville, Joe (wife, Amy) Beyers II of Shirley and Melissa (husband, Jeffery) Wisler of Mishawaka. Nine grandchildren, Adam Clark, Andrea Watts, David Beyers, Darren Beyers, Michael Wisler, Chelsea Patterson, Taylor Wisler, Kiana Wilt and Caleb Beyers; great grandchildren, Ethan Clark, Brock Bowser, Evan Clark, Charlee Beyers, Zoey Beyers, Chloe Beyers, Jameson Watts, Darren Beyers II, Georgia McFarland, Blake Beyers, Mila Beyers, Oliver Wisler, Madalyn Patterson, three brothers; Roger (Glendora) Beyers, John (Elaine) Beyers, Jim (Charlew) Beyers, sister; Rita (David) Dodd, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie in 2020.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 11:00 am at Wilkinson Church of Christ, Wilkinson, IN. with Pastor Dan D’Angelo officiating. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Church.
