Jo Ann Abbott, 74, of Anderson, passed away on April 29, 2021 at Community Hospital, Anderson. She was born on July 15, 1946 in Anderson to the late Howard and Annalee (Abel) Bailey. Jo Ann graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in 1964 and graduated from Porters Business College in 1965. She retired from Delco Remy in 2000 after 32 years of service. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Delco Remy Women’s Bowling League. She loved gardening and painting artwork. She is survived by her children, Rebecca Abbott (fiancé, Richard Laughin) of Anderson, David Abbott (wife, Julie Pierce); grandchildren, Meghan Christie (fiancé, Derrick Lawson) of Anderson, Emily Christie (fiancé, Zachary Harmon) of Anderson, Katherine Christie (fiancé, Keegan Perez) of Anderson; great grandchildren, Conall, Elijah and Everett. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Michael Bailey and Steven Bailey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1115 Pearl Street, Anderson IN 46016 with Father Tom Metzger officiating. Burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the church. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
