Jimmy Mcdole

Jimmy McDole, 54, Lapel, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis following a brief illness. He was born on April 27, 1959, in Noblesville, Indiana to Lawrence and Mary (Killman) McDole. He graduated from Lapel High School in 1977 and went immediately that night to work at O-I Brockway Glass in Lapel where he was a journeyman operator. He belonged to the glass operators union and the Lapel Eagles Aerie 4323. He enjoyed being on the water anywhere, including Riverbend Campground where he rode jet skis up and down the river. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Penny (Bloom) McDole; two children, Jimmy (wife, Koty) McDole, Jr. of Anderson, and Justin McDole of Lapel;his mother, Mary Lois McDole of DuBois, PA; four grandchildren, Makayla, Jamison, Haley, and Jayden McDole; two brothers, Lawrence (Bean) McDole (Kelly Cravens) of Anderson and Timothy (wife, Carrie) McDole of Brockport, PA; one sister, Penny (husband, Kevin) McCarthy of Carlisle, PA; and several aunts and uncles including Rod McDole of Lapel. He was preceded in death by his father. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Doug Barton officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, August 28, 2013, and one hour prior to the service Thursday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
