Jim Reneau Short, 87, of Middletown, passed away at Miller’s Merry Manor in Middletown on April 14, 2021. He was born on May 25, 1933 in Clay County, Tennessee to the late Abb and Dora (Boles) Short. Jim retired from Delco Remy after 31 years of service. He was a member of the UAW 663 and Pleasant Valley Community Church in Middletown and was a previous member of Main St. Church of God. He enjoyed horses, milk cows and farming and especially enjoyed fellowshipping at church. He is survived by his wife, Lorrena (Stohler) Short of Middletown; daughter, Jacqueline (Wade) Boils of New Castle, son, Johnny Short of Summitville; grandchildren, Crystal Boils of New Castle, Wade (Jamie) Boils Jr. of New Castle, Johnny Short of Summitville, Joshua (Summer) Short of Summitville; brothers, Marvin (Joyce) Short, Shelby (Mildred) Short; several great and great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; son, James E. Short and several brothers and sisters. Services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013 with Pastor Tim Warrum officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Walk Cemetery in Anderson. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
