Jim Phillips, 81, of Pendleton and former longtime Ingalls resident passed away Sept. 9, 2019 at the Rawlins House in Pendleton.He was born March 13, 1938 in Anderson, Indiana.Jim was a skilled carpenter and lather for most of his life.He was a 1956 graduate of Fortville High School and US Army veteran. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.Survivors include his six children, Jill (Randy) Wolverton of Pendleton, James “Jim” (Amy) Phillips of Florida, Joy (Bill) Offutt of Lawrenceburg, Jan (Van) Henderson of South Bend, Joe Phillips of Apex, North Carolina and Jodi and Kenny Steele of Cincinnati, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, Tyler, Brian (Delilah) and Kylie Wolverton; Zach (Haley) and Jake Phillips; Brianna (Jake), Jodi (Jay), Ryleigh and Kelsey Offutt; Jordan and Jaden Henderson; and Kenny Steele IV; and a great granddaughter, Julia Carrol Mary Kisor.He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Nora (Wexler) Phillips; his wife, Carrol A. (Boyer) Phillips whom he married, October 12, 1963; and his sister, Mona Austin.Services will be held at 1p.m., Friday, September 13, 2019 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton, Indiana 46064. Burial with military honors will follow in Mendon Cemetery, south of Pendleton.Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, September 13, 2019 at Lahm Chapel, Pendleton.
