Jewel A. Phillips, 80, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Community Hospital of Anderson following a brief illness. She was born May 17, 1937 in Macon, GA, the daughter Emmett and Nina (Chapman) Tucker. She lived in the Anderson area most of her life. She was a graduate of Frankton High School and worked for 37 years in production at Guide Lamp until her retirement in 1996. Jewel is survived by her daughter, Ronda (Paul) Martz of Anderson; grandchildren Megan (William) Sage, Kristoffer Campbell and Michael Wright; and great-grandchildren, Aiden and Robert Sage. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ronald Riggins and Odie “Jay” Phillips, Jr; and brothers and sisters, Bill Tucker, Louise Wastson, Mildred Crull, James Tucker, Christine Smith, Peggy Mullins and Jackie Carter. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Brian Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the funeral home.
