Jerry Eugene Gray

ANDERSON- Jerry Eugene Gray, 76, Anderson, passed away at his residence on May 14, 2017. He was born November 13, 1940 in Anderson to Wilbur and Bertha (Van Horn) Gray. He graduated from Pendleton High School and served his country in the United States Air Force as an MP. He retired from Delco Remy (Plant 11) in 1999 after 35 years of service. Jerry enjoyed NASCAR, IU Basketball, Chicago Cubs, camping, fishing, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife and best friend of 55 years, Janice (Ritenour) Gray of Anderson; children, Christina (Gray New) Ford of Anderson, Jerry D. Gray, of Anderson; grandchildren, Scott (Melissa) New of Greenwood, Kyle (Darin) New of Muncie, Devin (Lucas)New of Perrysburg, Ohio; brother John (Sandy) Gray of Rusk, Texas, Niece Betty (Hedge) Mitchell of Anderson, and several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and his loving dog, Hannah. The family would like to thank Dr. Brian Eddy and his staff for all of the wonderful care they provided. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Wanda (Gray) Hedge. Services will be Wednesday, at 1:00 pm at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson with full military rites. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00pm at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
