Jerald “Jerry” Gorman

Jerald “Jerry” Gorman, 77, of Anderson, IN, passed away on August 22, 2023 at Primrose Memory Care.  Jerry was born on October 19, 1945 to the late Howard and Mary Mildred (Harris) Gorman in East Alton, IL.

After moving to Anderson, IN. Jerry attended Anderson High School and later graduated from Vincennes University. Jerry served his country in the United States Air Force. Jerry retired from General Motors as a Millwright Journeyman.

Jerry was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  Jerry was also a member of a Knights of Columbus, American Legion, VFW, UAW, 40 & 8, and 912 Registry. In his free time, he loved to play golf and go on long walks with his wife.  Other hobbies he enjoyed doing were working on his classic cars, and in his garden.  His grandchildren gave Jerry many wonderful memories.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Patricia (Pat) Gorman; sons, Bryan (Michelle) Gorman, and Jason (Laura) Gorman; sister, Cheryl Morgan (Jim); brother in laws, Hank and Joe Babiarz; grandchildren, Lauren (Daniel) Butcher, Lilly, Lindsay, Connor, and Maggie; nieces, Holly (Brian) Nelsen and Amy (Todd) Fandrei; nephews, Derek (Teri) Thomas, and Greg (Amy) Babiarz; seven great nieces and nephews; special friends, Steve Scott, Mike Schuck, Dan Preston, Pat Melson, the three East Coast girls and the wonderful people in the neighborhood who would wave to Jerry on a daily basis.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and sister in laws, Geri and JoAnn Babiarz.  The family would also like to thank the staff of Primrose Memory Care for helping take care of Jerry.

The visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., Monday, August 28, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1115 Pearl St., Anderson, IN, 46016.  A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Mathew Jakupco officiating.  Burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery, 200 College Dr., Anderson, IN, 46012.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Voiture 510 Nurses Training Post, the Community Hospital of Anderson Foundation Programs of Rock Steady Boxing and the Alzheimer’s Support Group, and St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
