Jeanette Irene Hensley

June 29, 1920 — July 29, 2014

Jeanette Irene Hensley, 94, of Anderson passed away July 29, 2014 at Countryside Manor.

She was born June 29, 1920, in Rush County, the daughter of the late Erastus and Mary Brown.

Jeanette was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a wonderful cook and had worked at the Harter House and Franklin School. She was known for her work ethic, working 40+ hours a week up until she retired at 83.

She is survived by her grandson, Jon Pitts; nephew, Stephen (wife, Jalene) Brown; nieces, Barbara (husband, George) Brown Rohrbacher and Stephanie Brown; great nieces & nephews, Mike (wife, Jeanne) Brown, Melanie (husband, Bob) Woodard, Marc (wife, Kathy) Brown; and great-great nieces & nephews, Jacqueline and Heather Brown, Shelby, Mackenzie and Tyler Woodard, Sam and Lyndsi Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garold “Bill” Hensley; daughter, Gloria Jean Pitts; granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Pitts; brothers, Howard and Lowell Brown; and nephew, Ronald Brown.

Services will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2014, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Rev. Kaye Casterline. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
