Jean Frances Dovey

Jean Frances Dovey, 95, of Anderson, passed away December 11, 2020, at Rawlins House in Pendleton, due to a recent injury. She was the daughter of Frank and Mary (Gooding) Dovey and was born on April 12, 1925. She lived her entire life in Anderson, living in the same house for 83 years. Jean graduated from Anderson High School in 1943. She began her work experience employed at the Unemployment Office, followed by 17 years in payroll at The Coca Cola Company, then completing her career with 10 years in Nursing Home Administration. She was a member of the Women’s Business Association and a former member of Linwood Christian Church. Jean loved to travel and was fortunate to have visited many different countries during her lifetime. She was an independent person who valued family greatly and never complained about anything. She took interest in and found joy with other people’s accomplishments and was always ready with praise. Jean will be sadly missed. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including special caregivers Jay Beason (nephew) and Nancy Crist (niece). Jean was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
