Jean E. Beechler, 83, of Pendleton, passed away on March 26, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 29, 1940 in Silver Springs, MD to the late Edwin and Erma (Jenkins) Mitchell. While attending Lawrence Central High School, she was involved in GAA and graduated in 1958. Shortly after graduating, she began her career as a hairdresser. She married the love of her life, Paul David Beechler, and the two were married for 63 years. Jean found her spiritual home at St. Ambrose Catholic Church and was a faithful member for many years. Jean helped start up softball for Pendleton Youth Softball and was an active member of the Girl Scouts Troop for over 16 years, including being the Neighborhood Cookie Chairman. She was a proud supporter of the Madison County Music Makers for 36 years and the Home Ec. Extension for 41 years. Jean loved life and people, especially her family.
Jean will be dearly missed by her husband, Dave; children, Brian (Cindy) Beechler of Avon, IN, Vicky Beechler-Powell of Noblesville, IN and Sherry (John) Beechler-Himes of Anderson, IN; 7 grandchildren, Kelly Beechler, Keri Beechler, Brianne Powell, Lauren (Zach Cook) Powell, Tyler Powell, Samantha Jones, and Katie (Kyle) Burkholder; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald Mitchell and George (Jan) Mitchell; and sister, Frances (Roger) DeCoux.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Carol Ann Peten and Evelyn Mitchell.
The gathering of friends and family will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. The mass of Christian burial will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 2801 Lincoln St., Anderson, IN 46016. Monsignor Sell will be officiating. The burial will take place in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fishers, IN. Services for Jean have been entrusted to Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home.
