Janice K. Busby

Janice K. "Jan" Busby, 66, Alexandria, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, October 24, 2013, in her home. She was born on February 12, 1947, in Anderson, Indiana to Wayne and Alice (Green) Breese. She graduated from Highland High School in 1965 and attended Anderson University for a short time studying psychology. Janice had worked for a number of real estate companies in Madison county and started her own company, New Beginnings Real Estate in Alexandria. At the age of 17, God called her to establish a home for homeless women and children. Between that call and its fulfullment she touched many lives. In 2004, Janice became the founder and CEO of Bountiful Harvest Ministries and Beauty for Ashes, transitional home for homeless women and children. She was a member of Womens Aglow and opened her home to the Last Woman at the Well bible study group. Janice also provided a loving home to many, many foster children. Jan received the Madison County Shining Star award in 2009 for her work with females across the spectum of lifein business, social service, and the church.. She was an AMAZING mother and best friend to three surviving children, Kathleen Monroe of New Palestine, Ronald Busby of Indian Rocks Beach, FL, and Royce (wife, Amber) Busby of Middletown; she was Nanny to seven grandchildren, Randy Mathews, Shane Singer, Alex, Austin, and Adam Busby, Seth and Sophie Busby all seven meant the world to her; her mother and friend, Ora Alice Breese of Lapel; one sister, Patricia (husband, Brien) Scharnowske of Anderson; a brother, Jim (wife, Ann) Breese of Lebanon; a life-long friend, Rebecca Sheedy of Alexandria; and dear friend, Sharon Renfro of Muncie. She was preceded in death by her father; the father of her children, Fred Busby; and two brothers, Mike and Jerry Breese. A funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at Aletheia Church in Anderson with Pastors Brad Brizendine and Gary McCaslin officiating. Entombment will take place at 4:00 pm Thursday, October 31, 2013, in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm Tuesday, October 29, 2013, and from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at Aletheia Church, 2505 Faith Drive, Anderson.
