Janet Sue Ledbetter

Janet Sue (Hershman) Ledbetter, 85, of Carmel and former longtime Pendleton resident passed away January 15, 2022.She was born June 24, 1936 in Indianapolis, Indiana and was a Pendleton resident most of her life.Janet was a homemaker and had been employed at Downing’s, Clancy’s and Hardee’s restaurants in Pendleton.She was a 1954 graduate of Fortville High School. Janet was a member of Pendleton Christian Church; Martha Circle; Christian Women’s Fellowship; Christian Women United: Area 8; Fortville American Legion Post Auxiliary 391; Pendleton Garden Club; Pendleton Historical Museum; and Circuit Breakers CB Club.Survivors include her children, Reed C. (Diana) Ledbetter of Goshen, Wesley S. (Kim) Ledbetter of Indianapolis and Karyn L. Ledbetter of Pendleton; eight grandchildren, Brandy, Andrea, Adam, Josh, Alex, Tanna, Brandon and Danielle; 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Thomas L. (Rosalie) Hershman of Cedar City, Utah and Wayne M. Hershman of Summitville; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert W. “Bob” Ledbetter who she married June 19, 1954; infant daughter, Georganna Ledbetter; great granddaughter, Payton Harrison; parents, George T. and Mary L. (Cox) Hershman; and brothers, William M. Hershman and Richard A. Hershman.Services at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton with Reverend Michael Canada officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Lawn Cemetery in Pendleton. Visitation from 12 to 2 p.m., Wednesday at Lahm Chapel, Pendleton.
