Janet Myers

MARKLEVILLE- Janet (Blake) Myers, 89, of Markleville passed away at her home on April 26, 2024.

She was born March 30, 1935 in Markleville, Indiana to Melvin and Aileen (Collier) Blake and was a lifelong resident.

Janet was valedictorian of her graduating class of Markleville High School in 1953.

She was a member of Ovid Community Church where she was active in the Mary Martha Circle Group. Janet served as church organist and pianist for over 60 years. She was also a member of AMVETS Auxiliary Post 25.

Survivors include her daughters, Adonna Joy (Jerry) Hollars and Jill E. Davidson both of Markleville; grandchildren, Kelli Aileen (Scott) Bergstrom, Kyle Blake (Amanda) Foster, Veneca (Wayne) Montgomery and Clint (Keithea) Hollars; great grandchildren, Kattie and Keith O’Neal, Cheyenne Harp, Riley and Jacey Hollars, Owen and Clark Bergstrom, Ruby and Aurora Cummins; three great great grandchildren.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; sweetheart and husband, Fredrick “Don” Myers who she married, June 19, 1953; grandson, John Ryan Foster Davidson; son-in-law, John Davidson; brother, Gale Blake; and sister, Joyce Begley.

Services will be held at 11 a.m, Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Ovid Community Church, 793 E. 600 S., Anderson, IN 46013 with Pastor Keith Wooden officiating. Burial will follow in McCray Cemetery, Wilkinson.

Visitation from 3 to 8 p.m., Monday, April 29, 2024 at Ovid Community Church.
