Janet Marie Crouse

Janet Marie Crouse, 71, Lapel, passed away Monday, February 23, 2015, at her home following an extended illness. She was born on May 8, 1943, in Hartford City, Indiana to Arza and Vera (Macon) Cline. She graduated from Hartford City High School in 1961. Janet cooked at several schools in the Hamilton Southeastern School system including Durbin Elementary and Hamilton Southeastern High School. After retirement, she worked in the snack bar at the Stony Creek Golf Course. She attended the Fall Creek Christian Church in Pendleton. She loved to play euchre with her club members; enjoyed golfing, meeting people, and traveling. The joy of her life was spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Samuel P. Crouse; three daughters, Brenda (husband, Jeff) Mack of Fishers, Wanda(husband, David) Brattain of Noblesville, and Paula (husband, Scott) Manchess of Pendleton; eight grandchildren, Lindsey and Joseph Collins, Samuel and Laura Brattain, and Erica, Emma, Erin, and Ellie Manchess; one great-grandson, Logan McClaren; two sisters, Loretta (husband, John) Croy of Warsaw, and Lois Ann (husband, Dale) Stinson of Pierceton; and her son-in-law, Kerry Collins of Fishers. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Raymond Cline. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, February 27, 2015, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Tom Wiles officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
