Janet Louise Champney

Janet Louise Champney, 86, of Noblesville, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Harbour Manor Care in Noblesville following an extended illness.

She was born on September 9, 1936, in Ossian, Iowa to Clarence Bernard and Zella Olive (Hutchinson) Bergeson.

She was a retired beautician. She attended Fenton United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed bowling and reading. She loved birds and birdwatching.

Janet is survived by two sons, Rick (wife Kelly) Champney of Lapel and Mike (wife, Ronda) Champney of Bourbonnais, Illinois; four grandchildren, Paje (wife, Brittany) Champney, Codee Champney (Dan Coats), Kelsey Champney and Parker Champney; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Torpin.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, June 30, 2023, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051 with Rev. Jill Moffitt officiating.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.

Committal of ashes will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Wesley, Iowa at a later date.
