Ms. Janet Galaher

Janet Galaher, 78, of Anderson, passed away September 14, 2016 at Community Hospital. She was born June 7, 1938, in Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Elvin and Eva (Littlepage) Cavender. While attending Anderson College, she met and married her husband of 58 years, Rodney Galaher. She was a homemaker and also worked as an executive secretary for St. Matthews Methodist Church and Warner Press. Janet was dearly loved by her family and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and wintering in Florida. She is survived by her husband, Rodney Galaher; daughters, Tina (Kevin) Lewton of Ill., Diane Johnston of Anderson; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Chris) Lewis, Robert (Stephanie) Lewton, Wesley Johnston; a great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Kuhns; sister, Betty (Herb) Pruett; and nieces and nephews, Chris Pruett, Cathy Poorman, Debbie Chadwick, and David Pruett. Memorials in Janet’s honor may be sent to Eastside Church of God. A private service for the family will be held at a later date.
