Janelle Deane Smart

Janelle Deane Smart, 48, of Noblesville, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family following an extended battle with cancer.

She was born on March 25, 1975, in Brazil, Indiana to Greg Cook and Tina (Cox) Moore.

She was a 1993 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. She was a dedicated senior quality assurance specialist for NextGear Capital in Carmel.

She was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved the beach.

Janelle is survived by her husband, Chad Smart; a child, Harrison Lee (Emily) of Noblesville; her father, Greg (wife, Sandra) Cook; her mother, Tina (husband, Abe) Moore; a sister, Gwen (husband, Mark) Snelson of Westfield; loyal companion and protector, Chloe Smart; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Mark Dashiell and two stepbrothers, David McIntosh and Robert McIntosh.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051 with Rick Cochran officiating. Cremation will follow. Burial of ashes will take place at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel at a later date.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
