James R. Jim Woodward

James R. Jim Woodward, 79, Fort Myers, Florida, unexpectedly passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2007.
He was born on February 15, 1928, in Madison County, Indiana to Lowell and Mary (Williams) Woodward. He was a longtime resident of Michigan and had resided in Fort Myers, Florida for the last 22 years.
He graduated from Lapel High School in 1946 and received a bachelors degree in 1950 from Anderson College (now Anderson University) where he played basketball for four years.
Jim loved spending time with family and friends and would often drop in on them while taking long motorcycle rides. He was known as Mr. Fix It to friends and a practical joker to all. Jim enjoyed boating, basketball, and pitching horseshoes. His careers included teaching and sales.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Charline (Valentine) Woodward; three children, Annette Whiting of Okemos, MI, Kerry (husband, Bill) Crook of Rockford, MI, and Philip (wife, Jill) Woodward of Howell, MI; two grandchildren, Ryan (wife, Jane) Woodward of Decatur, GA, and Caitlin Woodward of Howell, MI. He is also survived by one brother, Kenneth Woodward of Lapel; one nephew; and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by, his parents.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at Grovelawn Cemetery in Pendleton with Rev. Evan Lash officiating, burial will follow.
There will be no calling hours.
