James Kenneth Hofer, 73, of Anderson, passed away September 21, 2017 at Countryside Health & Living Community after a brief illness. He was born in Daleville on November 11, 1943 and has lived in Anderson most of his life. He retired from Delco-Remy in 1998 after 34 years of service. Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church and U.A.W. Local 662. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judi (Cox) Hofer of Anderson; two daughters, Lori (husband, David) Clark of Noblesville and Angie (husband, Corey) Miller of McCordsville; four grandchildren, Ashley (Chris) Webb of Anderson, Justin ( Christine) Smith of Anderson, Shelby Miller of Indianapolis and Peyton Miller of McCordsville; two great grandchildren, Connor Webb and Allison Smith; his brother, Thomas (wife, Peggy) Hofer of Chesterfield; brother in law, William Kirkpatrick of Anderson; sister in law, Debbie Cox of Anderson and many nieces and nephews and longtime special friend, David Cave of Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Lucile Hofer; brothers, William Hofer and Edgar Hofer; sisters, Nancy Frawley, Marjorie Coonce and Janet Kirkpatrick. Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Rev. Dennis Zirkle officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
