James F. Knotts

James F. Knotts, 84, of Lapel, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 5, 2021 at his residence in Lapel.He was born on August 12, 1936, in Noblesville to Floyd Knotts and Ethel Maxine (Chambers) Knotts.Jim graduated from Noblesville High School in 1955.He retired from Delco Remy, division for General Motors after 30 years, he worked a short time as a insurance salesman for Western and Southern Life.Jim was a faithful member of the Ford St. United Methodist Church. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He was an avid Lapel Bulldog sports fan. He attended most sport activities for boys and girls on the high school level. He loved watching his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren play sports. He was very active in the Emmaus Community.He is survived by children, Jo Ellen (Terry) Couch of Spiceland, and Larry (Kelly) Knotts of Lapel; grandchildren, Joseph (Jenny) Turner, Stephanie (Steve) Tipps, Kelly Turner (Greg Buck), and Kayla (Sam) Knotts; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Jamison, Ben, Cole, and baby Knotts. Jim was also survived by several nieces and nephews.Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sondra; and 3 sisters, Carol, Dixanna, and Jean.A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 9, 2021, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana with Rev. Glenn Knepp officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel, Indiana.Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to Lapel High School Athletic Department.Online condolences: www.hersbergerbozell.com
