James E. Hersberger

James E. Hersberger, 68, Anderson, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2006, at his residence surrounded by his family which was his wish.
He was born on September 7, 1937, in Anderson, Indiana to Tom and Hattie (Hoffman) Hersberger. He was a 1955 Lapel High School graduate and a former 4-H leader. He retired from E & B Paving. He was a member of the Pendleton Church of Christ. He is survived by three children, Ronald (wife, Dede) Hersberger of Pendleton, Rene'e (husband, Tony) Ritchie of Anderson, and Rick (wife, Karen) Hersberger of Anderson; seven grandchildren,Stacy (husband, Richie) Vincel, Erica McDole, Nicole Hersberger, Aaron Hersberger (fiance' Jasmine Collins), Kaylin Ritchie (fiance' Shannon Thompson), Eli Hersberger, and Audra Hersberger; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deanna (Myers) Hersberger in 2002. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Jim Vaughn officiating. Burial will be at the Perkinsville Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association. The family would like to express its thanks to Dr. David Mares and his staff for their kind care.
