James D. Boyll

James D. Boyll, 81, of Lapel, passed away Thursday April 8, 2021, at his residence following an extended illness.He was born, September 7, 1939, in, Terre Haute to Vern M. Boyll and Kathryn (Muckstorm) Boyll .Jim graduated from Lapel High School in 1958.He retired from General Motors as a Tool and Die Maker.
Jim was an avid Lapel Bulldog sports fan.
Jim attended the Ford Street United Methodist Church, in Lapel. He was a member of the Lapel American Legion Post 212, where he was active as Chaplain and active in the Honor Guard. He was also a member of the Lapel Eagles, and a former member of the Lapel Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Fellowship Masonic Lodge, in Anderson. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.He is survived by his two sons, Michael (Shawnee) Boyll of Indianapolis; Mark (Sherry) Boyll of Anderson; sister Mary Long of Terre Haute; three grandchildren, Matthew Boyll, Kaitlyn Boyll, and Lucas Hatcher; He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 60 years, Nora Boyll, brother Jack Boyll, and sister Colleen Sterchi.A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana with Rev. Glenn Knepp officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
