James A. “Jim” Buffenbarger, 77, of Anderson passed away September 21, 2015 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Harford City on December 1, 1937 to the late William and Dorothy (Hannoy) Buffenbarger. He was retired from the Fireplace Replacement Center after 29 years of service and has lived in Anderson since 1999.
Jim was a member of the Memorial Circle Wesleyan Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, raising beagles and going to flea markets.
He is survived by four sons, Richard (wife, Michelle) Dick of Hartford City, Andy Buffenbarger of Mendon, OH; Raymond (wife, Jennifer) Buffenbarger of Ohio City, OH; and James A. Buffenbarger, Jr. of Eufaula, AL; daughter, Ronaele (husband, Ron) Blauvelt of Ft. Wayne; grandchildren, Adam, Aaron, Jacob, Joshua, Zach, Trenton, Landon, James, Ashley, Amanda and Damiana. He also helped raise his great grandchildren, Rileigh, Alex, Carson and Cassidy and additional great grandchildren, Satori, Riley and Everlie; also surviving are four step children several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren and a loving friend of Jim and family, Mary Lou.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Fletcher whom he married on September 4, 1999 and sister, Judy Clark.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Clifton Ashlock officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be 11:00-1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Memorial Circle Wesleyan Church.
