James B. Frye

James B. "Jim" Frye, 69, Anderson, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at Saint Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. He was born on April 27, 1944, in Muncie to James and Luella (Sands) Frye. He graduated from Morton Memorial High School in 1962 and served in the U. S. Air Force. Jim retired in 1999 from the former Delco Remy division of General Motors in Anderson after 31 years of employment. He attended the Perkinsville Community Church and was a member of the U. A. W. Local 662 and the Lapel American Legion Post 212. Jim enjoyed his family, playing with his granddaughter, gardening and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Vickie (Foland) Frye; one son, Chad (wife, Kayla) Frye of Lapel; one granddaughter, Audrey Frye; two sisters, Jeri (husband, Bob) Wood of Anderson and Sylvia Mikel of Muncie; one brother, Dennis (wife, Stella) Meranda of Muncie; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Don and Samuel Frye. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Aleshire officiating. Burial with military graveside rites will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, November 29, 2013, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Perkinsville Community Church, 2783 North Washington Street, Anderson, Indiana 46011.
