Jacqueline DeLong, 88, of Anderson, went to be with the Lord on September 16, 2014.
She was born February 11, 1926, in Madison County to the late John Edward & Dora Belle (Turpin) Fish. She retired from the ministry and also from Anderson University, where she was a cook for the Colts. She had been a member of the Women’s Missionary Group and also the Women’s Auxiliary of Salvation Army and also served as Corps Sergeant Major.
Jacqueline is survived by her children, Daniel (Teresa) DeLong, Rev. Dennis (Janet) DeLong, Father Robert DeLong MSF, Terrance (Wanda) DeLong, Sharon Kreps and Dana Bruce DeLong; sisters, Geneva B. Carraher and N. Glea (Danny) Delffs; brothers, Jack (Melba) Fish and Ted (Mamie) Fish; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard “Art” DeLong; siblings, Glena, Helen and John Fish, Arlene Harris and Ruth Smith; grandchildren, Tara & Teri DeLong.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Burial will be at Bronnenberg Cemetery, Chesterfield.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 22, at the funeral home.
