Jacob Wayne “Jake” Key, 38, of Markleville, Indiana passed away, Thursday, December 29, 2016 at his home.He was born November 13, 1978 in Anderson, Indiana and was a life long Madison County resident.Jake was a plumber for over 20 years for Ted’s Plumbing where he loved his job, but the people he came in contact with even more.His biggest hobby was hunting and he also loved fishing.Jake was always positive no matter what the circumstance, smiling, joking and laughing. He was an excellent role model and mentor.Survivors include his wife, Amy L. (Hendrick) Key whom he married, February 17, 2016; son, Evan (Cynthia) Key; five stepchildren, Amber (James) Waymire, Derek Otto, Britain Fisher, Daylan Fisher and Emma Fisher; granddaughter, Aubree Elizabeth Key; mother, Sally (Ted) Brown; brothers and sisters, Joshua Key; Jerry (Amanda) Key, Jill (Jason) Key, Jada (Eric) Shetterly, Jessica Key and Joseph Key; several other half-siblings ; niece, Chasity Key; nephew, Keigan Key; several other nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.Jake was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Harmon Key, Sr.; brother, Jerry Harmon Key, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Don and June Wolverton and other grandparents.Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton, Indiana 46064 with Pastor Claude Creel officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Lahm Chapel, Pendleton.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family.
