Jack V. Taylor Sr.

Jack Vernon Taylor, Sr., 89, of Anderson passed away on March 5, 2022 at his winter home in Arizona. Jack was born on June 17, 1932 in Daleville, IN to his parents, Lafayette and Velma (Felton) Taylor. Jack graduated from Anderson High School in 1950 and shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Navy to faithfully serve our country from 1951-1955. After his honorable discharge, he was employed by General Motors/Delco-Remy and was a skilled machine repairman for many years. Jack was a member of the Masonic Lodge 681 for 65 years. He found his spiritual home at Meadowbrook Baptist Church and Crossroads United Methodist Church and was a faithful member for many years. Jack was a die-hard Cubs fan and followed them for over 72 years. He was also a fan of the IU Hoosiers Basketball team and has been cheering them on for 60 years.

Jack will be dearly missed by his wife, Linda; his son, Jack (Carol) Taylor, Jr.; his daughter, Deborah (Craig) Walker; his sister, Barbara Snedeker; his 9 grandchildren, Tifinie (Kevin) Voiles, Jeremy (Diana) Walker, Mindy (John) Lewis, Daniele (Devin) Abbey, Corey (Whitney) Myers, Cody (Brittney) Myers, Hannah (Dayton) Abbey, Abbie (Andrew) Willis, and Hunter Walker; his 13 great-grandchildren, Luke Lewis, Andrew Lewis, Rachel Lewis, Braden Walker, Cruz Walker, Mia Walker, Parker Myers, Olivia Myers, Maci Myers, Addison Voiles, Jackson Willis, Jessen Willis, and Blakely Abbey.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Evelyn; his step-son, Timothy Reddy; and his brother-in-law, Bill Snedeker.

The visitation will be from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park.
