Jack R. Yunker

Jack R. Yunker, 80, passed away January 26, 2016 St Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born October 19, 1935 in Anderson and lived here his entire life. Upon graduation from Anderson High School, Jack enlisted in the US Navy and served for two years. On March 18, 1959 he married Barbara Potter and together they raised their family. He retired from Guide Lamp after 30 years of service. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the 40&8, all here in Anderson.

Jack is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Brian (Julie) Yunker and Pamela Stephany, both of Anderson; grandchildren, Tristan (fiance, Amber Norris) Yunker of Hendersonville, TN, Clinton Yunker of Anderson, Veronica Stephany of Anderson and Brandon Stephany of Anderson; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Hill, Jaylynn Hill, Hayley Hill, Aubrey Hill, Bella Stephany and Kierra Yunker, all of Anderson; and sister, Betty Moore of Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Yunker; mother, Charlotte Yunker; brother, Robert Yunker; sisters, Phyllis Reuse and Lavonne Uffman.

Funeral service will be 10am Saturday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Bill Garver officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.

Visitation will be 4-8pm Friday at the funeral home.
