J Robert Bob Hughes

J. Robert Bob Hughes, 94, Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2010, at Saint Francis Hospital and Health Centers in Indianapolis following a brief illness.
He was born on December 22, 1915, in Anderson, Indiana to Walter and Blanche (Cleveland) Hughes.
He graduated from Anderson High School in 1934.
Bob had been an insurance agent for Midwestern United Life.
He was a member of the Greenwood Wesleyan Church; Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge; and Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis
He is survived by one son, Thomas E. Hughes of Anderson; three grandchildren, Robert C. (wife, Jina) Hughes of Greenwood, David T. Hughes of Anderson, and Elissa M. (husband, Willibaldo) Martinez; and five great-grandchildren, Kami Reed, Devon Hughes, Marisa Hughes, Valentin Avina, and Savannah Hughes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 66 years, Lois M. (Garrison) Hughes; four sisters, Myrle, Martha June, Doris Louise, and Ida Ruth Hughes; and one brother, Russell H. Hughes.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, February 11, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Jim Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
