Ivan G. Horning, 78, Anderson, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2004, at his residence. He was born on August 14, 1925, in Hamilton County, Indiana to Andrew and Alice (Bannister) Horning, Sr.. He honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean War, and retired in 1980 from Delco Remy after 31 years of employment. He was a member of the Beall's Chapel United Methodist Church and the Lapel American Legion Post 212 and the NRA. He is survived by his wife, Mary L. (Illges) Horning; four children, Vicky (husband, Charles) Schroeder of Noblesville, Mike (Kim Wilson) Horning of Anderson, Susan (Bill Savage) Gray of Anderson, and Gerald (wife, Susan) Horning of Elwood; two sisters, Dorothy (husband, Ralph) Martin of Columbus, and Mary Kreig of Leesburg, FL; nine grandchildren, Angela DeVaney, Chrissy Manis, Jami Horning, Randi Shuck, Alex Shuck, Andy Horning, Adrienne Horning, Kirtis Horning, and, Kasey Horning; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday at Beall's Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Lee officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Friends may call from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday at the Beall's Chapel United Methodist Church.
