Ivan Francis Brown, 90, Lapel, passed away Friday, March 26, 2010, at Rawlins House in Pendleton following an extended illness.
He was born on July 3, 1919, in Rushville, Indiana to Francis and Mary (Brooks) Brown.
He served in the U. S. Army during WWII in Germany and he earned a purple heart.
Ivan retired in 1981 from Firestone in Noblesville after 35 years of employment.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie (husband, Doug) Milliner of Lapel; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; special friend, Bob Teeters of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edna (Fry) Brown; a daughter, Sarah Ann DeVaney; four brothers, Guy Wolfe, Wilbur Brown, Henry Wolfe, and Leroy Brown; and a sister, Lura Stage.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, March 29, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Dawn Cuthbert officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm Monday, March 29, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
