Hubert D. Hinkle, 87, formerly of Anderson, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 5, 2017, in Mesa, Arizona. He was born December 27, 1929, in Anderson to the late Forrest Dale & Luella Montrea (Scott) Hinkle. He retired from Guide after 38 years, while there he was a member of the Night Bowlers Assoc, and of the Softball League. He attended The Nazarene Church in Anderson before becoming a member of First United Methodist Church of Anderson and Velda Rose United Methodist Church in Mesa, AZ. He was also a member of Elks #209, Edgewood Country Club, Painted Mtn Country Club, FMCA Assoc., Coast to Coast, and Colorado River Adventures RV Resort Clubs. He enjoyed travelling, having many adventures in his motorhome. He was also an avid fisherman spending numerous summers in Cicero and of course golfing, having got three Holes-in-One. Hubert is survived by his wife of almost 49 years, Carol Ann (Wood) Hinkle; children, Kelly Ann Hinkle of Anderson, Cathy King of Selma, Chris (wife, Lois) Hinkle of Indianapolis; stepdaughter, Julie Ann Roberts of Beaverton, OR; siblings, Helen Johnson of Henderson, NV, Herschel (wife, Nancy) Hinkle of Lapel, Howard (wife, Jayne) Hinkle of Muncie; five grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and special friend, Gene King. He was preceded in death by his sister, Hope Reist Memorial services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Rev. Bill Mathys officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Anderson. Visitation will be an hour prior to services.
