Hoyt Bilbrey

July 28, 1934 — December 18, 2020

Hoyt Bilbrey, 86, returned to his heavenly father December 18, 2020, after a sudden illness. Hoyt retired in 1996 after 35 years as a commercial master finish carpenter, he belong to the Carpenter’s Union #1016 and was proud to earn his 50 year pin. He loved to camp and travel with his wife and daughter. He also shared a passion for square dancing with his wife, and they often traveled with friends to square dancing conventions. He was a member of the Night of Owls. Hoyt and his wife, Cee, were longtime worshipers at Bethany Baptist Church. Hoyt, known for being a devoted and loving father is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary “Cewilla” Ferrell Bilbrey; daughter, Debbie (Earl) Berkebile; grandchildren, Carol Aynes, Michelle Ardery, and Bill Berkebile; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Chelsie and Alexis Aynes, Ellen, Margaret and Charlie Ardery, Dru and Dylan Berkebile; great-great-granddaughter, Onnalysse Johnson; sister-in-law, Peggy Bilbrey, Bessie (Roy) Winkler; brother-in-law, Willie (Daffo) Ferrell; nieces, Tammy Edgreen and Kim Gibson; and several great-nieces and nephews. Hoyt was preceded in death by parents, Peter and Delia (Hammock) Bilbrey; stepfather, George Mandrell; brother, Lillard Bilbrey; and parents-in-law, Bedford and Arngie Ferrell. Services will be held Monday, December 28, 2020, at 1:30 p.m. at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E, 53rd St., Anderson, with Pastor Bob Adams officiating. Entombment will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for the friends will be Monday at the funeral home from 11:30 am until 1:30 p.m. Due to recent Covid-19 mandates, the family is requesting all guests are to wear face coverings or mask, and practice social distancing at visitation and service.
