Howard "Junior" Mills, 83, Noblesville, passed away Friday, February 11, 2005 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville following an extended illness. He was born on June 26, 1921, in Hamilton Co., Indiana to Howard, Sr. and Margaret (Woodward) Mills. He was a 1939 Lapel High School graduate and he received his dregee in pharmacy from Butler University in 1951. He served in the Air Force as a Tech Sgt in the Pacific Theater during World War II from 1942 to 1945. He was the manager of the former Gwinns Drugs in Lapel for many years and had also been employed by Hooks and CVS in Anderson, Tipton, and Noblesville. He was a member of Faith Community Church in Noblesville and was president of the West Central Community School Board from 1973 to 1977. He is survived by his wife, Carol (Gaugle, Brown) Mills whom he married on October 16, 1946; one son, John (wife, Camille) Mills of Seattle, WA; a step-son, J. Michael (wife, Paula) Brown of Boerne, TX; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Suzanne C. Mills; two brothers, Harry Eugene Mills, and Joe Richard Mills; and a sister, Mary Kay Weaver. Services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Allan Hazen officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery in Lapel. Friends may call from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Tuesday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.
