Hilda Louise Wilson

Hilda Louise Wilson, 92, of Ingalls, passed away on September 19, 2023, with her family by her side. Hilda was born in Madison County, Indiana to David and Daisy (Soots) Conger on August 5^th, 1931. Hilda married George “Bud” Wilson on December 5^th, 1948 and they had three children.

Hilda held many jobs, but mostly took care of those she loved, whether family or friends. She was dedicated to the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and bringing joy to those in her midst.  She also prided herself on being the unofficial Ingall’s Historian, clipping articles about the town and sharing stories alike with loved ones.  Hilda and Bud were longtime members of the First United Methodist Church in Ingalls. She was involved in feeding the community and taking care of anyone in need, whether they needed a meal or a place to stay. Hilda’s fried chicken, chicken and dumplings and homemade noodles brought all who loved her together.

She is survived by her sons, Rickford George Wilson, Terry Lee (Kathy) Wilson, Mark (Linda) Mowery; daughter, Sherry Riggs. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Hilda is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Richard (Jesse) Conger; sister, Violet (Bus) Childers.

Memorial service is at 3 p.m. on Saturday September 23, 2023, at First United Methodist Church, Ingalls Campus, at 301 N. Alfonte St., Ingalls, IN, 46048. The family invites you for a celebration with food and spirits at the American Legion Post #391, at 207 S. Merrill St., Fortville, IN 46040, following the services.
